Data We Collect

When you use our website or contact us, we may collect the following information:

• Name and email address (via contact form)
• Information you provide in your message
• Service you're interested in
• Usage data via Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
• Messages you type into the AI chat assistant, and the name, email and message you enter in its contact form

AI chat assistant

Our website has an AI chat assistant. It answers questions using information about ZAIS.AI and replies in the language you write in. It is an AI and can be wrong; please do not share sensitive personal data (for example health, financial or ID numbers) in the chat.

• What we process: the messages you send and the assistant's replies, the language, and a technical conversation ID. For abuse protection we store a salted, irreversible hash of your IP address, never the IP address itself.
• Contact form inside the chat: only if you choose to fill it in. Your name, email and message are sent to us by email and saved in our enquiry inbox so we can reply to you. We ask for your consent with a tick box before sending.
• Why: to answer your questions, to follow up on enquiries you ask us to follow up on, to keep the chat secure and to improve the service. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (answering questions and protecting the service) and, for the contact form, your consent.
• Who helps us: your messages are processed by Anthropic (the provider of the AI model, USA) to produce answers; conversations are stored in a database run by Supabase in the EU (Ireland); contact-form emails are sent through Resend. Transfers outside the EU/EEA rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
• How long: chat conversations are deleted automatically after 12 months. Enquiries you send through the contact form are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and for our legitimate business records, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
• We do not use your chat messages to train our own AI models, and we do not sell them.

Google Analytics 4

This website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google LLC. GA4 uses cookies and similar technologies to collect anonymous usage data, including:

• Pages visited and time spent on each page
• Approximate geographic location (country/city level)
• Device type, browser, and operating system
• Referring website or source
• Interactions such as clicks, scrolls, and form submissions

This data helps us understand how visitors use our site, improve our content, and measure the effectiveness of our marketing. GA4 anonymises IP addresses by default. The data is processed in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

Legal Basis (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the legal bases we rely on for processing your personal data are:

Cookies

This website uses minimal cookies necessary for basic functionality and analytics (GA4). You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. Blocking certain cookies may affect how the site functions. The AI chat keeps a temporary conversation ID in your browser's session storage (not a cookie), which disappears when you close the tab, and the site remembers your light/dark choice in your browser's local storage.

When you first visit, a cookie bar asks for your choice. Statistics cookies (Google Analytics) load only if you accept them. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" button in the page footer; withdrawing deletes the Google Analytics cookies. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam. It loads only when you start using a form (or the contact form in the chat), it does not use advertising cookies, and Cloudflare may process your IP address and browser details for this check.
